Our story begins with a simple desire to make a difference. On a cold winter’s day in 2015, a realization dawned—games could be more than just entertainment; they could be a powerful tool to bring value to the kids of Soweto. At Diski99, an organization led by our CEO, Raymond Ledwaba, the focus had always been on sports and education. But Ray saw potential beyond the soccer fields and classrooms. He saw that video games could be a gateway to new opportunities for the youth.
While developing an esports initiative for Diski99, Ray and Robin stumbled upon an idea that would change the course of their journey—a vision to create games that resonate with and represent the very kids playing them. And thus, ITThynk Gaming was born. Though its roots are in Soweto, ITThynk’s story spans the entire continent.
To commercialize gaming IP from Africa, a robust ecosystem and thriving industry are essential. This is where ITThynk Gaming’s potential truly shines—through its capacity to unite the industry, galvanizing a market ready for commercialization. What began as a small spark in Soweto has grown into a continent-wide mission, with ITThynk Gaming at the forefront, driving the future of African gaming.

With over a decade of professional experience, our CEO has demonstrated a remarkable career in Auditing, Consulting, and Project Management. Prior to his current role as CEO, he held significant management positions at renowned organizations such as PWC and Barclays Africa.

Bandile Phuthuma is an experienced change management expert with over 20 years of experience in various roles. Bandile is currently a key member of ItThynk Gaming, where he acts as a public sector liaison and advocate, utilizing his strong communication and relationship management skills. His expertise spans strategic change implementation, project coordination, and leadership.
A passionate game deisgner and developer with extensive experience in graphic design. Currently pursuing his PhD in game design, focused on understanding the African story and how its captured in game design.
